Nice strong material but also very light weight and with a pretty eye catching design.
I have a 32” waist so went for the shorts in a medium. They fit really well and have a draw string and elasticated side section so you get a nice secure fit that is not restrictive. I am 6”2 with quite long legs and they finished just above my knee (similar is size to Jaco and Clinch Gear shorts). So for my taste it is the perfect length for grappling and standup with no restriction or movement needing no adjusting while training.
Form short’s size guide:
- Small: 28-30
- Medium: 32-34
- Large: 35-36
- X-Large: 38-40
The material is not a stretch type of material but is an incredibly light but strong polyester with high quality silk screen print which is really holding up well after the last month or so of training. Also being polyester the white part of the shorts is also like new unlike other brands of shorts I have which start to go a dull grey pretty quickly. The stitching is also very well done with no loose threads at all and reinforced sections at stress points.
Another thing I should mention is the material they use dries very quickly so during and after a training session you never feel weighed down or get that nasty I am sweating like a pig feeling.
The hook and loop part of the enclosure system is not as strong feeling as shorts made by Clinch Gear and Sprawl as these are the benchmark for any hook and loop based shorts but it has not failed on me during countless grappling and stand up training sessions. The draw string is similar to a thick skate shoelace and really holds well without cutting into you if you tie it really tight. I really like the simple approach they have taken for this part of the shorts as some companies have seemingly spent way to much time over thinking their enclosure system. The Form shorts just work and work very well where as their over thought competitors don’t!!
+Light & strong material.
+Simple but effective enclosure system.
+Full range of motion striking or grappling.
+Perfect leg length for me……..possible a con for some!
-Leg length maybe to short for some tastes or very tall lanky types.
-Price maybe a bit to high considering how new the brand is
-Hook & loop not as strong as other companies.
I bought these shorts from Made4fighters.com for £45 and as usual their service and delivery times were great. The price was a little high but I really like these shorts a lot. Simple but at the end of the day the shorts do everything asked of them and will hold up to whatever you can throw at them.
