After NOGI’s successful line of VOLT shorts they finally released the VOLT 2.0 shorts. An improved version of 1.0.

Defying all the known logistics of meteorology and science, lightning has indeed struck twice. Introducing the new VOLT 2.0 grappling shorts from Nogi Industris. 

This updated take on the classic VOLT design now includes a crotch fashioned from super-strong 4 way stretch material, color accented piping, embroidered logos throughout and a durable PVC logo above the fly.

Compared to the old VOLTs they got some new logo placements and some great new colours. The new VOLTs come in a navy blue and in a grey. They also added some kind of a panel on the sides of the shorts. However they don’t have any function.

Construction

These shorts are made out of a little bit thicker material. They have got a stretch panel in the crotch which provides flexibility. There are 3 logos all completely embroidered as well as a pvc NOGI logo on the waistband.

Even after three hours of training they didn’t feel wet. So no soaking up of sweat.

The VOLT 2.0 got great . Very durable an probably will never come off.

The closure system is very simple. It is a 3-way closure system with a vertical velcro and a horizontal velcro to tighten up your shorts. After you tighten them with the velcro there is the 3rd way the drawstring which provides even more hold.

Fit

First my specs: I am 1.80 m and weight 84 kg just that you have something to compare with.

These shorts are in 34 and they fit me like a charm. The finish around my knee so they are mid-long. Not too shorts but also not too long which is sometimes really annoying when shorts run too long.

Due to the closure system you may adjust them even more exactly. But I need to admit that there isn’t much space to adjust them via the closure system you would get out just a few inches so it’s necessary to get the correct size.

 

Pros

+ great workmanship, nicely done seams and embroidery (you know I am an embroidery whore)

+ do not soak up sweat stay dry even after three hours of training

+ nice fit (remind! get the right size no need of going up)

+ greta new design comes in two brilliant colours (grey and navy blue)

Cons

It is pretty hard to find cons on NOGI products they are just that good!

But a con could be if you don’t like thick material. In my opinion I like this  material because some shorts are sometimes so thin they feel like they would rip in every second.
