After a few training sessions in the Hayabusa pro mma gloves I came to a conclusion.
Fit
I ordered the gloves in the size L/XL and as I tried them on for the first time I couldn’t feel my fingers anymore. There were some seams in the fingers of the glove which were still very stiff. In the first 2 training sessions I had some real pain in my fingers because the seams really cut into my skin. I just needed to hit them soft. Now they fit me perfectly.
Construction
The gloves have got a two way closure system which provides wrist support as well customisable fit. It’s perfect for striking because of the wrist support is striking and even hitting a bag very “comfortable”. The disadvantage is that this extra wrist supports makes the glove pretty long.
But the best thing is the so called “Y-Yolar” design for your hand palm and your thumb. This gives you a perfect hold.
In my opinion Hayabusa declined regarding handling their gear. Some of the seams are very badly handled. I think I can expect better handled seams from a premium pair of gloves. Nevertheless this gloves are one of the best I have ever trained in.
Pros
+ great construction
+ feels great wearing them
+ decent design (I know decent one of my favourite words)
Cons
-some of the seams are badly handled
- price!!!
This one is pretty difficult to decide whether it is a3 out of 5 or a 4 out of 5. I think I’ll go with 4 out of 5 because of the brilliant construction and the good hold around the wrist.
