I purchased the Rival MMA bag gloves from Title MMA for a bargain $40. I did not do a review straight away as I wanted to get a good amount of use in and for the “They are new so must be great” feeling to wear off.

When I first got them, the initial reaction was that the quality was pretty amazing and they look great. With great stitching and good quality leather.

I bought the large size as I wanted to be able to fit wraps under the gloves as hitting pads or the bag for a long period of time you really need to wrap your hands. As you can see from the pictures they are a good fit. The section next to the outer part of my hand is quite, what I can only describe as baggy but when worn with wraps they really fit well.

The closure system is pretty standard and really holds in place. They have used a very good quality hook and loop material as well which is another plus as some companies seem to be skimping on this as or late. The double wrap also increases the support which can only be a good thing.

The biggest plus is the individual finger bars. These create almost a custom fitted feel to the glove when you make a fist. This also helps when quickly moving from punching to defending incoming pads and clinch work as they comfortably fall exactly where you need them. (If that makes sense!!)

When hitting both the pads and bag my hands felt really protected but not so much that it felt like I was punching with pillows so you got the perfect feedback from each strike. If you have weak wrists or have hand injuries it maybe worth sticking with a boxing style of bag glove just incase.

Like many people I was not convinced about how the white print would hold up on the front of the fist area. I am pleased to say nearly 6 months in and the white has not dulled, faded or worn off which is great.

So all in all I am really pleased about my purchase and would really recommend these gloves for anyone in the market for a good pair of mma style bag gloves.

-Not suitable for people with injuries or weak wrists
-Maybe a bit over the top looks wise for some who like things a bit more simple
